Cambridge Who’s Who Names Helen Horn Musser
Professional of the Year in Fine Art
TERRELL, TX, June 14, 2010 Helen Horn Musser, President of Helen Musser Fine Art, has been named Cambridge Who’s Who® Professional of the Year in Fine Art. While inclusion in Cambridge Who’s Who® Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who’s Who® Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who’s Who® selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
“I love to paint and feel compelled to do so,” avers professional artist Helen Horn Musser. For the last three decades, Mrs. Horn Musser has done just that, and in the process has acquired an enduring reputation for the quality of her watercolor, oil and encaustic paintings. She focuses her talents on rendering landscapes, waterscapes, figures and angels, always striving to give a physical form to the intangible. “A goal of mine has been to capture the spiritual self of man in a visual way through my artwork,” she says. “I hope my art communicates the part of us which is lasting and will never die.”
Since dedicating herself to her craft in the early 1980s, Mrs. Horn Musser has seen her pieces displayed in numerous exhibits across Terrell and Dallas. She has also been featured in newspapers, magazines and art books such as Masters of Today and Trends, which are distributed to galleries, museums and collectors around the world. Committed to bringing visual art to the community, she donates her paintings to civic auctions and Christian schools. This same desire drove her to help establish the NorthEast Texas Fine Art Alliance. Formed in 2003, the alliance is geared towards advancing fine arts and honoring fine artists in the Northeast Texas area. “The arts are part of our soul and the soul should not be neglected,” Mrs. Horn Musser states. She considers being able to pursue her passion for art to be the most rewarding aspect of her career and attributes her success to her God-given talent.
Mrs. Horn Musser completed coursework in painting and encaustic painting at Southern Methodist University and coursework in drawing at Eastfield College. She also took classes in watercolor painting under Tom Lynch. Within the next five years, she hopes to gain more recognition for her artwork.
